Archive for the ‘Graphics’ Category

I actually updated more than this blog. ZOMG.

Sunday, July 11th, 2010

I’m really shocked that I actually got around to putting up some graphics. It’s been … a really, really long time. I’m sure I could go through my blogs to find it, but I don’t care that much. If you really do, you are, of course, welcome to go ahead.

So, for the updates I have two new wallpapers and some new icons. The icons include some from The Lion King under Movies, and then an entirely new page for bands, where I have The Killers and The Goo Goo Dolls. Icons for that page are from The Killers – Read My Mind, The Killers – All These Things That I’ve Done, and The Goo Goo Dolls – Iris. They are all very wonderful songs.

Nothing has really been going on since the last blog. I’ve been making hemp bracelets, and today I started two articles that I hope to finish and publish (one at a time) here for you guys to view and, hopefully, educate you all a little. :D

EDIT: Nauseating.

Talk about a turn for the worse in mood but…

It’s 1:30 in the morning, and I’m too tired to write up my own argument on this. Not to mention, I don’t think I could have put it any better. So go educate yourself on something happening today.

THE Face (by popular demand) and Mac’s a freak. Just sayin’.

I’m glad you all enjoyed the last video. Haha. So I uploaded some more onto Youtube so that I can give them to Dusty, and I decided that I might put one of them in each blog until all of them that I’m okay with sharing are up. Because there’s a lot, I figure it would suck to have all of them in one blog. Spread it out a bit and all. :D

So this is the next one, which I am only putting up by popular demand. Popular demand pretty much consisting of my friend Sin demanding I do it. And I’m sure Dusty would thoroughly enjoy my embarrassment considering I did put one of her up.

But I think she enjoyed the last one. She said something about wanting to rant some more, haha.

So yes, that is me and all my freakish glory in the first bit. But then it cuts to Dusty freaking out while I continue to make the face. And mind you, if I make the face while on Skype, she still freaks out. I feel pretty accomplished, to be honest.

When I was moving back into my room (I had my laptop out in the living room because I was watching The Hunchback of Notredame, huzzah), I walked past Mac’s cage and noticed that he was sleeping. Which isn’t unusual. I put him to bed at nine usually, and he falls asleep shortly after. And I am very well aware that it sounds like I’m talking about a kid. But I might as well be. I have to bathe, feed and water him. Which is like any other pet. But he also needs twelve hours of lights out that requires me to shut off everything but his Ceramic Heat Emitter and cover his cage with a blanket (to avoid the sun, since I can’t exactly shut that off).

Usually when he sleeps, he sleeps on his log that reaches up so he’s pretty close to the CHE and his lights are right above him. His most frequented spot, really. Well, not this time. Apparently this time he wanted to be a little closer to his only heatsource at nighttime. He was — and still is — clinging to the bars of his cage right in front of the CHE and sleeping.

I did have to use the flash, which is something I hate using. I apologize for the terrible quality. I just wanted to get the point across. And you can see that he is clinging to the bars. And no, he did not wake up. I’m pretty sure I could flash a lightbulb in front of his face for an hour and he wouldn’t wake up.

… There is a very irritating fly buzzing around my head.

1. How is your summer vacation going so far?
2. Do your pets do anything really weird?

EDIT: Maybe I’ll put up the wallpaper I made awhile ago from the pictures by Lake Mich. … And maybe my new mouse one. Haha.

Open your eyes.

So after wandering about like a long lost hobo without anything new to write about, I finally found something to say besides “Happy Thanksgiving.” And it’s actually related to this holiday, so it works out.

On one of the sites I go on, I was browsing the general chat boards and I found someone with a thread entitled “Happy Kill All the Native Americans Day” where conversation kind of took on the feel of how Americans or the “white men” are so terrible because we killed Native Americans. Maybe I’m over-reacting about this one little thread, but it goes beyond this.

It always seems like all the hate is directed at America, and it’s due to the fact that we’re the leading world power. If you look at history, the hate always goes to the leading country. Just like there’s always hate to the current leader of the country (although I think Obama needs it — but that is another story). People look at our history and point out the people we have killed and go “OH MY GOD YOU KILLED ALL THOSE PEOPLE YOU HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE COUNTRY.”

… Do people NOT realize that, like, EVERY country has blood on its hands at some point in time? I’m not saying killing is right. I’m not saying I’m proud to say I’m an American when I look at the Native Americans our founders killed, the land we took, or the innocent Japanese lives lost in the dropping of the atomic bomb, or how we put Japanese-Americans in concentration camps due to nothing but paranoia, and all the other times we were, well, not doing any good.

But, let’s take a look here.

The Native Americans killed plenty of the people who came to the New World as well, and they killed other tribes and other people. Okay, yeah, the settlers did come onto the land that was taken by the Native Americans. It may not have been taken in the way that they viewed property, but it was taken. So maybe this wasn’t the best example, but the point is that they killed people as well.

The dropping of the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. This is not a proud moment, in my opinion. But let us please rewind a little and take a look at the fact that Japan attacked Pearl Harbor. It was primarily a military base, yes, so there weren’t as many civilian deaths, but Hiroshima and Nagasaki were chosen because they were industrial locations, for the same reason. We also have to take into consideration that if America had not developed the atomic bomb, someone else would have. Although Germany wasn’t as far as we were, they were messing with the same stuff.

No, I’m not trying to justify what Americans have done in the past. I’m trying to even the playing field, because the reality is that war is not pretty. War does not have a total winner, because each side loses a lot. And for each side to lose a lot, each side has to deal many blows. Everyone is related to someone, no matter how distantly, who killed someone else.

Open your eyes and face the facts. No one is innocent in this kind of thing.

Edit / Created a few new icons. I really like this one right here, so much. We’ll see how long that lasts though. The icons I put up are under Icons > Movies > HP, Icons > Characters > Batman and Icons > Weather > Winter.

Also, since I forgot the questions before, here you go:

1. What else should I make for graphics, besides icons?
2. Did you enjoy your Thanksgiving, if you are from the States?
3. What are some things that irritate you that most people probably don’t care about?
