Sunday morning, rain is fallin’

Sunday Morning by Maroon 5.

I love this song so much.

A lot has happened since my last update, which was quite a while ago really. I just found out today that I did, in fact, get accepted into the Illinois Institute of Art! And as per request by my adviser, you should all know the school is awesome. So that kind of tones down my worries about college. I know where I’m going, and I know when. I just have to figure out how I’m going to pay for it, haha. So that leaves me with a year to tackle as many scholarships as I possibly can.

As of August 30th, I no longer am employed by a gas station. As of September 1st, I am employed by a truck stop/restaurant as a buser/dish person. Wish me luck with the new job!

I got my deviantART bag for my camera and it is awesome. It’s just a little awkward to use right now because it’s so top heavy. That’s where the camera goes. And the bottom is currently empty because I do not own any lenses. I’ve considered transferring my uncle’s film camera into it just to add more weight to make it sit right but. Hah.

I started a painting of Bear. I kind of should get to work on that again, actually.

I started Beowulf, and I love it. I have to do three journal entries per book (Beowulf and Oedipus) and I got one third of the way through Beowulf, so I have one sixth of my assignment done. Haha. I just haven’t done more because it’s much easier to read when I don’t have the computer in use. At the time, I was doing updates/virus scans/defragmenting and everything. Which is why I got so much done.

I finished Call of Duty 4 – Modern Warfare. I played it last weekend with my uncle and we took turns finishing it off. Now I need to get Call of Duty 4 – Modern Warfare 2. Also, when they come out, I need LittleBigPlanet 2 and Batman – Arkham City.

Band Camp starts next week. During that time I’m going to be doing my APUSH homework with my friend as well as going to see the new Cats and Dogs movie. I remember the first one from when I was little. I really wanted to see Vampires Suck! It looks hilarious. I loved the Scary Movies though so that’s probably why.

I have ordered four shirts from Threadless. One I ordered earlier this week and was shipped already (waiting for it to come) and the other three I ordered first today. One of them I got for the purpose of my senior pictures, which I have to take. As soon as I find my tripod at any rate. It should be interesting, doing this myself. I wish I had someone to at least give me a hand, ha.

And… that’s it. I think.

SUMMER!

I am officially done with school. All of my exams are graded and up along with my final semester grades for my transcript, except for German because that was the only and last exam I had for today. The only grade I was seriously upset with went up as a result of my exam so that made me happy. My photography exam was a little lower than I wanted (okay, I wanted a one hundred percent, I got an A-) but overall I think it was a pretty decent end to the year.

A week from tomorrow I leave for Florida. Right now I am at my grandma’s house but when I get home, I think I am going to write out a list of things I need to remember, because I have a tendency to forget important things. Just like when I went to the Skills competition.

Which reminds me. Did I tell you guys that we got the final scores? My teacher called me into his office about a month or so ago and showed me the final percentages and rankings from the contest, so I could see exactly how good I did in certain parts of the event as well as how much I lost by. Well, I found out that I got the highest score on the interview (I think) and I was tied for the highest in the Photoshop activity. As I know I’ve said, I finished with a third. Well, I was 2.2 points away from first place. Not even kidding. If I had not been stupid, I would have remembered the good camera, and I probably could have won. I cannot believe I was so close.

So I would just overall rather avoid forgetting something. My luck it would end up being something like, I dunno, a ticket.

That would be very, very bad.

Tomorrow is my first full day of summer vacation and I get to spend most of it at work. I work a double and normally that means three hours for the morning shift and two for the night shift, but my boss gave me a lot of stuff he wants done. Weather permitting, for most of the extra projects.

Yippee.

I downloaded a trial version from Adobe of the Creative Suite Master Collection 5, and let me tell you, I am in love with Flash Professional and the interface of the new Photoshop. I cannot wait until I am a college student and can get the discount because this is so going to be mine. Haha. Or, the new one, if they have the next version out by then.

I do love this layout, but I think, if I can get something nice to work with this Flash program, maybe I can figure out how to make a really sweet layout with it. Which, I would of course put up then, because it would be so much cooler than this one. Haha. I have some ideas, it’s really just a matter of figuring it all out and see how it works as far as weblayouts and everything go.

1. Are you done with school? If not, how much longer until you are?
2. Would you be interested in submitting your site and/or advertising a site directory if I decided to make one as a subsite of BCF?

Almost there.

There are about nine days left of school, including exams. We have this Monday off for Memorial Day, however I have to march for a parade, and my friends’ friend invited me to her graduation party, which is the same day. At the request of one of my friends, I might be going.

But, things are starting to wind down. AP European History has been a film fast since the AP exams and we’re on our last film. In AP Biology, we’re currently taking the semester exam, which I am taking with the seniors because I’m the only junior in my class. We took the first third of it today and… all I can say is that I’m thankful it’s only worth 5% of the grade. In Photography, we’re suppose to be turning in our videos, and working on the last project, which is a green screen project. Band, we have the parade Monday and then we play at Graduation. AP Language, we’re going to watch a movie next week and we have to prepare for our exam. Algebra, we have to finish the last chapter, quiz/test on that and do the packet for the semester exam. Employability Skills, we have a peer interview. I am exempting that exam. German, well, that is like every other day of the year.

Lots of movies and last minute testing and projects.

I am, however, working on a new layout. It is more or less done, I just need to figure out how exactly I’m going to organize the menu.
