Title from They by Jem
Funny. My last blog is how I’m going to blog more, then I take three days to update again, haha. But I’ve been working on finishing up at my uncle’s old place, band stuff, working (which I actually got switched to night shift instead of morning, yay!) and just, yeah. Those are my excuses.
I got my two summer reading books for AP Lit. Oedipus Rex and Beowulf. I have to write three journal entries on each. I also have to read two chapters and do homework for APUSH but my friend and I are going to do that during band camp week.
Today I started the college application process. I applied at The Illinois Institute of Art, where I am simply dying to go. My major would be, of course, photography. It is a fantastic school. It’s going to be the only place I apply for now. You’re not suppose to do that, but I’d hate to pay fifty dollars per application at other schools if I end up getting accepted here, since I’m going to take this school no matter what, if I’m accepted. I had my ACT checked over and, to my relief, I do not have to take any Placement Tests. I qualify for college level classes as is. I also had to pay to have my AP scores sent to the college. They’re not very good scores, but maybe I can scrape together some credit. I hope anyway. They weren’t cheap.
The only things I have to do for that school is my essay and have my high school mail them my transcripts. If I can get a hold of my high school. I tried calling and no one was there today. And then FAFSA after taxes are done, but that’s not for a while yet. Everything else is due by the fifth of August, so I can get early admission. Which is good. The sooner I know if I’m accepted or not, the more time I have to apply elsewhere if I need to.
I also have to start on scholarships. Bleh. College so better be worth all this headache.
I’m also starting to work on gathering things for my camera. I’m probably getting the dA Camera Bag because it’s way cheaper than Canon’s equivalent and has a ton more space. But I won’t know when I’m getting that until tomorrow. Either way, I have to get a bag. We ended up not being able to get the warranty on the camera because it was like three hundred dollars, and that is not money that is currently available for use. So a bag would at lease protect the camera as well. (And be way cheaper.)
