Sunday Morning by Maroon 5.
I love this song so much.
A lot has happened since my last update, which was quite a while ago really. I just found out today that I did, in fact, get accepted into the Illinois Institute of Art! And as per request by my adviser, you should all know the school is awesome. So that kind of tones down my worries about college. I know where I’m going, and I know when. I just have to figure out how I’m going to pay for it, haha. So that leaves me with a year to tackle as many scholarships as I possibly can.
As of August 30th, I no longer am employed by a gas station. As of September 1st, I am employed by a truck stop/restaurant as a buser/dish person. Wish me luck with the new job!
I got my deviantART bag for my camera and it is awesome. It’s just a little awkward to use right now because it’s so top heavy. That’s where the camera goes. And the bottom is currently empty because I do not own any lenses. I’ve considered transferring my uncle’s film camera into it just to add more weight to make it sit right but. Hah.
I started a painting of Bear. I kind of should get to work on that again, actually.
I started Beowulf, and I love it. I have to do three journal entries per book (Beowulf and Oedipus) and I got one third of the way through Beowulf, so I have one sixth of my assignment done. Haha. I just haven’t done more because it’s much easier to read when I don’t have the computer in use. At the time, I was doing updates/virus scans/defragmenting and everything. Which is why I got so much done.
I finished Call of Duty 4 – Modern Warfare. I played it last weekend with my uncle and we took turns finishing it off. Now I need to get Call of Duty 4 – Modern Warfare 2. Also, when they come out, I need LittleBigPlanet 2 and Batman – Arkham City.
Band Camp starts next week. During that time I’m going to be doing my APUSH homework with my friend as well as going to see the new Cats and Dogs movie. I remember the first one from when I was little. I really wanted to see Vampires Suck! It looks hilarious. I loved the Scary Movies though so that’s probably why.
I have ordered four shirts from Threadless. One I ordered earlier this week and was shipped already (waiting for it to come) and the other three I ordered first today. One of them I got for the purpose of my senior pictures, which I have to take. As soon as I find my tripod at any rate. It should be interesting, doing this myself. I wish I had someone to at least give me a hand, ha.
And… that’s it. I think.

Title from They by Jem
Funny. My last blog is how I’m going to blog more, then I take three days to update again, haha. But I’ve been working on finishing up at my uncle’s old place, band stuff, working (which I actually got switched to night shift instead of morning, yay!) and just, yeah. Those are my excuses.
I got my two summer reading books for AP Lit. Oedipus Rex and Beowulf. I have to write three journal entries on each. I also have to read two chapters and do homework for APUSH but my friend and I are going to do that during band camp week.
Today I started the college application process. I applied at The Illinois Institute of Art, where I am simply dying to go. My major would be, of course, photography. It is a fantastic school. It’s going to be the only place I apply for now. You’re not suppose to do that, but I’d hate to pay fifty dollars per application at other schools if I end up getting accepted here, since I’m going to take this school no matter what, if I’m accepted. I had my ACT checked over and, to my relief, I do not have to take any Placement Tests. I qualify for college level classes as is. I also had to pay to have my AP scores sent to the college. They’re not very good scores, but maybe I can scrape together some credit. I hope anyway. They weren’t cheap.
The only things I have to do for that school is my essay and have my high school mail them my transcripts. If I can get a hold of my high school. I tried calling and no one was there today. And then FAFSA after taxes are done, but that’s not for a while yet. Everything else is due by the fifth of August, so I can get early admission. Which is good. The sooner I know if I’m accepted or not, the more time I have to apply elsewhere if I need to.
I also have to start on scholarships. Bleh. College so better be worth all this headache.
I’m also starting to work on gathering things for my camera. I’m probably getting the dA Camera Bag because it’s way cheaper than Canon’s equivalent and has a ton more space. But I won’t know when I’m getting that until tomorrow. Either way, I have to get a bag. We ended up not being able to get the warranty on the camera because it was like three hundred dollars, and that is not money that is currently available for use. So a bag would at lease protect the camera as well. (And be way cheaper.)

I’ve decided, since I kind of stink at coming up with titles for things, I’ll just use song lyrics. Unless it is an article or something that does have an actual title. This blog’s title comes from Breathe Me by Sia. I love this song so much, and the music video is simply fantastic.
I have also decided that I’m going to try to blog more. Previously I tried to wait and give people a chance to read and comment if they so chose, considering I don’t have many visitors each day. But, if I end up blogging twice in the same day now, so be it. I’m just letting you know so that you can check for more than one, if you are an avid reader.
Today marked the first day of a long week of working morning shifts. It went pretty well, which is probably because the boss was gone. Where he was, I don’t know, but I can’t honestly complain. It’s not that I don’t like him, or that he scares me (like my co-workers suggest he does one of the other stockers). It’s just that, it’s uncomfortable. I feel tons more pressure to not mess up even though he usually has something to complain about anyway. So things just tend to go smoother when he’s not there.
The only good thing is that now I have the rest of the day to do whatever I please, rather than having to take a few hours off to go and work second shift.
At work today when I was in the cooler, I was looking at Mountain Dew and Mello Yello. I always find it amusing how most people (to my understanding) prefer Coke over Pepsi, although one is hard pressed to come across someone who hates Mountain Dew, which is actually a Pepsi product. Coke’s alternative is Mello Yello which is my personal preference, although I am not against Mountain Dew. MY and MD are similar in actual contents as well, although MY has less sodium. They both have the same total calorie intake, yet they have varying 8 fl oz calorie intake (like, you know how the nutritional facts list “8 fl oz” and “for this package” or whatever). Can anyone explain how that works? D:
I just thought it was weird. And figured I’d bring it up. Whoo for random, pointless conversation.
I also kind of want to make a new layout. Yes, yes, I know. I’m an idiot. But I can’t help it.
And one last thing… I WANT ONE!
1. Which do YOU prefer: coke or pepsi?
