Black Cat Friday

Backstory

I have been interested in web design and graphics design since somewhere around 2004 or 2005. I originally started out of curiosity, trying to customize my pages on a site that I belonged to. One thing led to another, and soon I had created my first graphics site, the name of which I do not remember. As I taught myself more about the trade, adding in css and a better understanding of html, I moved on to create StarClan's Heaven.

It started out on Freewebs. I was originally inspired to create the site by The IslandClans, a site owned by a friend of mine. Like IC, it was a Warriors Fansite. I eventually got tired of the freewebs.com/starclansheaven url and got starclansheaven.com, which was hosted by PolurNet. By this time, my interest in Warriors and my respect for all the Erins had begun to disappear and I changed the site into That Website Designs. When I was able to, I moved the site to thatspecialsite.com.

Time went on and sooner or later the focus of my site was no longer a free resource site, but a blog. I had entered into the field of a freelance web designer with my first client being a restaurant close to my home. Wanting to separate my pointless ramblings from my portfolio, I bought blackcatfriday.com in early May of 2009. The site's original intention didn't last, and trying to run bcf as well as thatspecialsite.com wasn't working out so well.

Deciding on a whim to combine the two, I kept blackcatfriday.com as the name is better sounding. The site was more-or-less finished and opened on October 31st, 2009.

Behind the Name

A while back I was looking for a new feline character for a role-play, and I came up with a black barn cat by the name of Friday. I soon became obsessed with this little guy and added on a rather gangster look -- giving him a tie and a fedora. Figuring it would be pretty cool to have him be my trademark, so-to-speak, I came up with a new website name: Black Cat Friday. I ended up loving how it sounded to the point that I had to get it, and here we are.
